We clean up beaches every chance we get. After meeting in the Bahamas in 2017, our lives starting revolving around the beach. A few months after we met, we were in St. Augustine, FLA and Wood started picking up trash.I looked at him, puzzled at first, and then shocked at the amount of garbage he found. After joining him, I was shocked at what I found. "Beach picking" as we called it quickly became a habit. Beach Relief was born.
Since 2017, we have done well over 500 beach clean ups in three countries and picked up thousands of items such as plastic bottles, plastic bottle caps, micro plastics, balloons and ribbons, plastic straws, single use cutlery, plastic bags, aluminum cans, lighters, sunglasses, flip flops along with countless other amounts of miscellaneous trash.
We never leave our home for without a bag to collect trash. You could say we are now addicted to picking up trash. Our goal, we want EVERYONE to be! Trust us, there is unfortunately enough out there for everyone! Trash on our beaches and in our oceans is only one part of the problem.
Plastic. Plastic lasts forever, and we are seeing evidence of this MAJOR problem everywhere, not just on the beaches, but in the oceans, in the bellies of wildlife, in our water and food, and therefore in our bellies too.
We want to do what we can. We want to show others that everything they do helps, even if it is a simple as never buying bottled water again, or picking up that trash you see on the way to your car in a parking lot.
At Beach Relief, we strive to do the following:
Beach Clean ups.
Educate ourselves and others.
Awareness through social media and public events.
Conscious Consumerism.
Home - Start in the home to reduce, reuse, recycle and REFUSE.
MISSION STATEMENT: Beach Relief is an international effort consistently removing plastic and trash from our coastlines and earth, while striving to bring awareness to individuals and educate about conscious consumerism.
